Mogadishu — A joint operation by the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), the Somali National Army (SNA), and international partners targeted al-Shabaab in Hiiraan.
Over 40 militants were killed in the Ceelhareeri area. The operation was precise and focused on a hidden location. It also destroyed vehicles used by the group.
Among those killed was Abuu Anas, head of logistics for combat units. Mohamed Ahmed (Xerow), a senior field commander, was also confirmed dead. Nuur Cabdi Rooble (Nuunuule) and Commander Jeylaani sustained critical injuries during the operation.
These leaders were linked to recent suicide attacks in Hiiraan and Middle Shabelle. This successful operation disrupts their capabilities and undermines their plans against Somalis.
The Federal Government of Somalia is committed to eradicating al-Shabaab. They work closely with citizens and international allies to protect the nation’s sovereignty and Islam's true essence.
