Ntombela, aged 62, was shot shortly after leaving his shop. His shop is just five houses away from his residence. His daughter, Londiwe, shared details with Sunday World. She said her father left the shop around 6 PM and drove home.

Her younger brother heard the car stop outside and went to open the gate. Gunshots rang out as he opened the gate, so he ran back inside. After a few minutes, he went outside and found their dad shot in the car.
