Starvation is widespread in war-torn Sudan, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus described the situation as dire, with 12 million displaced and 25 million in need of support.
The civil war, which began in April 2023 between Sudan's army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF), has left thousands dead and caused massive displacement.
Dr. Tedros expressed concern over the lack of global attention, suggesting race plays a role in the unequal focus on African conflicts compared to others, like Ukraine.
Mediation efforts have yet to end the conflict.
