A Ugandan High Court judge and UN official, Lydia Mugambe, is on trial in the UK for allegedly tricking a young woman into working as a domestic slave.
Prosecutors accuse her of exploiting her authority in a "most egregious way."
The alleged victim, who arrived in the UK in 2022, claimed Mugambe refused to let her leave until she repaid travel costs.
Police bodycam footage captured Mugambe stating, "Who wants to go back to Africa when she can work?"
She denied wrongdoing, saying the woman was simply seeking better-paying jobs.
Mugambe faces charges including forced labor and immigration breaches. She denies all accusations.
The trial at Oxford Crown Court continues.
