Verstappen to do FIA work in Rwanda after swearing

Max Verstappen will participate in a public interest activity with junior competitors in Rwanda following his controversial penalty at the Singapore Grand Prix.

The world champion was mandated by the FIA to complete this task after a transgression, which he had described as "ridiculous."

The punishment, which will coincide with the FIA's prize-giving ceremony in Kigali next week, includes Verstappen working with young drivers as part of the grassroots development program run by the Rwanda Automobile Club (RAC).

The program will feature an affordable cross car, built locally in Rwanda using blueprints from the FIA.

Verstappen’s penalty comes alongside a fine for Charles Leclerc for a similar infraction, leading the Grand Prix Drivers' Association to call for more respect and fairness from the FIA.
