Zambia’s women’s football team has withdrawn four key players from the upcoming Yongchuan International Tournament in China due to new travel restrictions imposed by the U.S. under President Donald Trump.

Captain Barbra Banda, Racheal Kundananji, Prisca Chilufya, and Grace Chanda, all playing in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), will miss the tournament.

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) cited concerns over travel difficulties following Trump’s executive order that may affect non-American residents re-entering the U.S.

FAZ assured that the players will be available for future assignments, including upcoming matches against Thailand and China/Uzbekistan.

The decision was made with the players' best interests in mind.
