Zimbabwe: Five Killed, 18 Injured in Road Traffic Accident

Five people died and 18 were injured in a truck accident. The incident happened on the Mvurwi-Kanyemba road.

Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the news. The accident occurred on Monday evening at around 5 PM.

Nyathi stated that the truck was carrying 35 passengers. It veered off the road and overturned before landing on its wheels. The crash happened while descending a steep slope near a sharp curve.

In another accident in Mazowe, four people died and eight were injured. A Nissan NV350 kombi veered off the road and overturned at the 52-kilometre peg along Harare-Mukumbura Road. This incident took place on Tuesday morning.

The bodies of the victims were taken to Concession Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examinations. The injured individuals were also admitted to the same hospital for treatment.
