Attack on my manager at AfroNation Portugal made me see things differently - Gyakie

Ghanaian artist Gyakie recently discussed an incident at the 2023 AfroNation festival in Portugal. This altercation involved her manager, Electro Mirror, and security personnel.

In an interview with Doreen Avio on Daybreak Hitz, she expressed discomfort discussing the event. She said it brings back painful memories.

"I wish I could have answered this question earlier," she stated. Talking about it feels like reopening healed wounds.

Gyakie mentioned that the incident was particularly challenging because she had a performance that day. "I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone," she added.

The 'Forever' singer noted that the situation made her phone ring constantly. "It changed my perspective on things," she remarked.

She also warned that the entertainment industry has its challenges. Artists must be more cautious while navigating their careers.

In June 2023, a viral video showed Electro Mirror being manhandled by security staff. The footage shocked many viewers and was shared by George Britton.

In the video, Mirror is seen pinned to the ground by five security guards. They had him in a chokehold as he struggled to breathe.

Meanwhile, Gyakie is gearing up to release her first album soon. She has already released a single titled 'Sankofa' from her upcoming album 'After Midnight.'
