Chris Brown charged over alleged London nightclub assault

US singer Chris Brown has been charged with grievous bodily harm. The Metropolitan Police announced the charge.

This charge relates to an alleged assault. The incident reportedly occurred at a nightclub in central London on February 19, 2023.

Brown, 36, was arrested at a hotel in Manchester early Thursday morning. He remains in custody and will appear before Manchester Magistrates' Court on Friday.

Adele Kelly, deputy chief crown prosecutor for CPS London North, stated that they authorized the charge. She mentioned it is contrary to section 18 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861.

Kelly added that criminal proceedings are active against Brown. She emphasized he has the right to a fair trial.

The Sun reported that Brown arrived at Manchester Airport on a private jet Wednesday afternoon. He is currently on tour and has shows scheduled across the UK in June and July.
