Empress Gifty's 'Watch Me' wins Traditional Gospel Song award at 2025 TGMA

Ghanaian gospel musician Empress Gifty made history on May 10, 2025. She won the first-ever Traditional Gospel Song of the Year at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards.

The event took place at the Grand Arena. It gathered many stakeholders from the Ghana music industry. Musicians were recognized for their hard work and contributions to music.

Empress Gifty’s song "Watch Me" won Best Traditional Gospel Song. With this win, she became the first Gospel Artiste to receive this award.

The awards introduced new categories, including Best Urban/Contemporary Gospel Song and Traditional Gospel Song.

Empress Gifty thanked her team and husband for their support. She also praised musician Kuami Eugene for writing and producing her song.

Finally, she dedicated her award to her mother, Evangelist Agnes Annan, known as Agaga.
