The judge in Sean "Diddy" Combs' criminal trial has threatened to ban him from the courtroom. This follows Mr. Combs nodding and making faces at jurors.
Judge Arun Subramanian called his behavior "absolutely unacceptable." Mr. Combs' attorneys promised it would not happen again.
During cross-examination, Mr. Combs was seen "vigorously nodding." This occurred while Bryana Bongolan testified about an incident involving Cassie Ventura, Mr. Combs' ex-girlfriend.
Mr. Combs has pleaded not guilty to all charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.
A new witness named "Jane" took the stand next. She dated Mr. Combs from 2021 until his arrest in 2024.
Jane described their early relationship as exciting and whirlwind-like. He took her on trips to Miami, Turks and Caicos, and the Bahamas. She felt "head over heels" for him during this time.
However, she testified that he later asked her to join in what prosecutors called "hotel nights." These involved hiring an escort to watch Jane engage with another man.
The first encounter happened in May 2021 in Miami. Jane thought it would be a one-time event but said it opened a "Pandora's box."
She stated, “It was a door I was unable to shut.” Afterward, there were many similar encounters that became overwhelming for her.
Jane went along with these encounters because she loved him and wanted to please him. However, she often told Mr. Combs she did not want to participate in these activities.
Despite her objections, he continued asking her to join more hotel nights. She felt frustrated and obligated to comply with his wishes.
Starting around April 2023, Mr. Combs paid $10,000 per month for her home. Jane felt obligated by this arrangement since he implied he didn’t want to pay rent for someone he wasn’t seeing.
From the beginning of their relationship, Mr. Combs provided drugs like ecstasy and cocaine. Jane admitted using these substances during some encounters with him and during hotel nights.
Her testimony will continue on Friday when she will face questioning from the defense team.
The court also examined Ms. Bongolan's testimony regarding an alleged balcony incident involving Mr. Combs.
Ms. Bongolan accused him of lifting her onto a balcony rail during a threatening altercation and throwing her into furniture, causing injuries.
Defense attorney Nicole Westmoreland questioned Ms. Bongolan about inconsistencies in her accounts of abuse against Mr. Combs over time.
Ms. Bongolan claimed that during the balcony incident, he sexually assaulted her by running his hands over her chest area while lifting her up.
Westmoreland pressed Ms. Bongolan on differences between sexual assault allegations and what she described in court about the rapper’s actions.
The defense suggested Ms. Bongolan fabricated details about the balcony incident based on evidence showing Mr. Combs performing at events on September 25-26, 2016.
Prosecutors had previously shown a photo of a bruise on Ms.Bongolan's leg taken on September 26th after the alleged incident occurred.
"You came in here and lied," Westmoreland told Ms.Bongolan.
"I can't agree with you," she replied firmly.
Later that day, prosecutors referenced a text message from Cassie Ventura's phone dated September 30th.
The message stated that Mr.Combs choked Ms.Bongolan and held her off the balcony late at night.
