King Promise wins Artiste of the Year at 26th TGMA

Musician King Promise won the Artiste of the Year Award. This was at the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA). The event took place on May 10, 2025. It was held at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre.

King Promise beat several competitors for this award. They included Stonebwoy, Joe Mettle, Black Sheriff, and others. Other winners that night were Ayisi, Empress Gifty, Kofi Kinaata, and KiDi.

In his acceptance speech, King Promise expressed gratitude to many people. He thanked his fans, team, and family for their support. He specifically mentioned KillBeatz as a significant influence in his life.

He said, “Thank you to my amazing team and brothers.” He also thanked his fans by saying they are the best in the world. King Promise encouraged young people to follow their dreams.

He shared his own experience with setbacks early in his career. “In my first year, I had seven nominations but left with zero,” he recalled. Despite challenges and laughter from others, he worked harder because he believed in God’s timing.

The awards show celebrated Ghanaian music and entertainment. It featured dazzling lights and exciting performances that thrilled fans. Throughout the evening, King Promise's achievements were widely discussed on social media.

His recent hits like “Terminator II” contributed to this win. Just before announcing the winner, tension filled the hall as cameras focused on nominees. When King Promise’s name was announced, cheers erupted from the crowd.

Gospel singer Yaw Sarpong received a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to gospel music. In total, 32 awards were presented during the event.
