“To be a music producer, you must master every skill” – Master Garzy

Ghanaian record producer and audio engineer Master Garzy shared his views on music production. He emphasized the importance of mastering all aspects of the music-making process.

In an interview with DJ Slim on Daybreak Hitz, he explained that being a true producer involves more than just making beats.

“Before you call yourself a producer, you must know how to produce,” he said. “You need skills in making beats, audio engineering, mixing, directing, writing, and even singing.” He noted that many people are just beat makers or mixing engineers.

Master Garzy believes his ability to handle every stage of production sets him apart. “I was fortunate to learn all these skills together,” he stated proudly. This is why he calls himself ‘Mix Master Garzy.’

He encouraged aspiring producers to take their craft seriously. They should strive to fully understand their roles in music production.

“Some people think they can mix just because they can record,” he warned. “It’s time they understand the difference.” He called for a more disciplined approach in the industry.
