Womba Africa Drumming and Dance is a cultural troupe from Ghana. They will tour the United Kingdom later this year. The group is known for dynamic performances and indigenous instruments. They showcase the rich heritage of West African music and dance.
The name "Womba" means "We are coming" in Ga, a Ghanaian dialect. The troupe draws international attention with their engaging shows. Their UK tour is scheduled for September and October 2025. It will include activities focused on traditional drumming and dance.
From September 18 to 20, Womba Africa will host a workshop at Lewsey Community Centre in Luton. This event will explore various dance styles' history and evolution. Participants will see traditional Ghanaian costumes and instruments. There will also be storytelling sessions included. Attendees will receive practical instruction in dance techniques.
Two live concerts are planned during the tour as well. The first concert is on September 27 at Lewsey Community Centre in Luton. The second concert is on October 4 at The Plough in Farnham. Both events start at 6:00 PM.
Felix Nii Okai Nummello, the group's manager, spoke about the preparations for the tour. He expressed excitement about making Africa proud during this event.
