Graphic designer Bryana Bongolan testified against Sean "Diddy" Combs. She claimed he once dangled her off a 17th-floor balcony. She also alleged that she saw him throw a knife at her friend, Casandra Ventura.
On Wednesday, prosecutors showed photos of Ms. Bongolan's bruises. She said these injuries were from the alleged incident in 2016.
Combs' attorneys questioned Ms. Bongolan's credibility during cross-examination. She struggled to recall past statements made to the government.
Combs faces charges of racketeering, conspiracy, and sex trafficking. He has pleaded not guilty.
The federal case is now in its fourth week of testimony. It follows numerous civil lawsuits accusing Combs of abuse from various individuals, including Ms. Ventura and Ms. Bongolan.
Ms. Bongolan met Ms. Ventura in 2014 while working for Young and Reckless. Later, as head women's designer at Diamond Supply Co, she collaborated with Ms. Ventura on a collection.
They became close friends and often used drugs together, including cocaine and ketamine. Ms. Bongolan admitted to procuring drugs for Ms. Ventura but stated she is now sober.
She testified about witnessing signs of Combs' alleged violence towards Ms. Ventura. Once, she saw her with a black eye during a FaceTime call.
In September 2016, while sleeping on the couch at Ms. Ventura's apartment, she heard banging on the door. She hid her girlfriend in the bathroom before going to the balcony.
Ms. Bongolan claimed Combs entered the apartment and lifted her onto the ledge while yelling threats at her.
He then allegedly threw her into some patio furniture outside.
Prosecutors presented photos showing bruises on Ms. Bongolan's leg taken after the incident. She reported suffering night terrors and paranoia afterward.
In another incident, Combs allegedly threw a knife at Ms. Ventura during an argument but no one was injured.
During a Malibu photoshoot with Ms. Ventura, Combs reportedly threatened Ms.Bongolan by saying he could kill her.
"I was terrified," she told the court about that moment.
During cross-examination, Combs' defense attorney tried to undermine Ms.Bongolan’s testimony by questioning her memory of previous statements made to prosecutors.
Nicole Westmoreland repeatedly asked about what she told prosecutors in January 2024 regarding the balcony incident but received vague answers from Ms.Bongolan.
Two weeks ago, key witness Ms.Ventura testified that she saw Combs throw Ms.Bongolan back over the railing onto patio furniture during an altercation.
In court sketches, Bryana demonstrated how Combs allegedly lifted her over the balcony railing on June 4th.
Westmoreland also questioned details about an earlier incident in Malibu where Combs allegedly threatened her at a party; however, Ms.Bongolan could not recall specifics from that conversation either.
As questioning continued into the afternoon, it became clear that she struggled to remember many details from prior conversations with prosecutors.
Forensic video editor Frank Piazza presented recordings showing Mr.Combs beating Mrs.Ventura in a hotel hallway back in 2016; he confirmed they were unaltered footage depicting actual events.
Ms.Bongolan is expected back on the stand Thursday followed by another witness known only as "Jane." Her testimony may take several days.
