Organized Labour has urged the government to prioritize agriculture in the 2025 budget, emphasizing the need for incentives to boost food production and raw material supply for industry.

Dr. Kwabena Nyarko Otoo, Deputy Secretary General of the TUC, stressed the importance of domestic resource mobilization rather than relying on loans for development projects. He called for a shift away from foreign exploitation of natural resources, advocating for policies that retain more economic value within Ghana.

Additionally, GNAT General Secretary Thomas Musah Tanko called for economic empowerment in rural areas, suggesting that better earnings in agriculture could reduce rural-urban migration.

He also urged the government to allocate dedicated funding for Free SHS and fulfill the 20% Deprived Area Allowance for teachers, ensuring improved working conditions in the education sector.
