Ofoase Ayirebi MP Kojo Oppong Nkrumah criticized the 2025 budget, arguing it reveals misplaced priorities by allocating GHS 71 million for research at the presidency while providing only GHS 51 million as seed capital for the Women’s Development Bank.
He also noted that the government has addressed only 25 out of 273 economic promises, warning of a lack of coherence between the budget and the NDC’s manifesto.
Meanwhile, MP Dr. Stephen Amoah claimed the NDC lacks a clear identity, while Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam questioned how the budget would be implemented given a GHS 15 billion funding shortfall.
Deloitte, in its analysis, called for clarity on the 24-hour economy policy and supported expenditure cuts to restore investor confidence, while also highlighting concerns over Ghana’s debt sustainability and economic growth prospects.
