A/R: Police launch investigation into murder of Kyidomhene of Brofoyedru -

The Ashanti North Regional Police Command is investigating a death.

Nana Osei Bonsu, the Kyidomhene of Brofoyedru, was found dead. His body was discovered in a pool of blood near his car. This happened on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, on the Boanim-Morim stretch.

Reports say he was delivering items when attacked. Unidentified gunmen stopped him, pulled him from his vehicle, and shot him at close range.

The motive for the killing is still unclear. The assailants destroyed his mobile phone but took nothing else.

Richard Nketia, the Assembly Member for Dompem Electoral Area, confirmed the incident. He has called for more police patrols on that road.

The body of Nana Osei Bonsu has been taken to Mampong Government Hospital for an autopsy.
