Joe Jackson, CEO of Dalex Finance, has expressed concerns about the challenges the incoming Mahama administration will face in managing the economy, particularly with its promise to remove certain taxes, including the e-levy.
Ahead of the 2024 general elections, John Dramani Mahama, the NDC candidate, pledged to scrap taxes he deemed burdensome, such as the e-levy, COVID levy, a 10% levy on betting, the emissions levy, and import duties on vehicles and equipment for industrial and agricultural purposes.
Jackson emphasized that the government would need to manage revenue performance carefully in 2025, as these tax removals will impact the country's finances.
