The Abossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association has refuted claims by the Alliance of Drivers Ghana that rising spare parts prices contributed to the upcoming 20% fare increase set for March 17, 2025.
In a statement signed by Director of Communications Takyi Addo, the association called the claims false and misleading. Chairman Henry Okyere Jr. affirmed that spare parts prices have remained stable, with no recent increases in import duties or market rates.
The association urged transparency in fare adjustments and called for stakeholder engagement to ensure fairness in transport pricing.
