Absa Bank has donated GH¢150,000 to support traders affected by the January 2 fire at Kantamanto Market. The donation includes GH¢100,000 in cash and GH¢50,000 worth of roofing sheets to aid the rebuilding efforts.

The presentation was attended by Absa Bank officials and representatives from Kantamanto's trading associations.

Kobla Nyaletey, Managing Principal of Absa Bank Ghana, expressed sympathy for the traders' losses and outlined key initiatives, including loans at a 10% interest rate and an Absa presence within the market.

Audrey Abakah, Director of SME and Agency Banking, emphasized the bank’s commitment to empowering traders. Dr. Joseph Obeng, President of GUTA, thanked Absa for the timely support, ensuring the funds would be used for rebuilding.
