Edward Ekow Obeng-Kenzo, Acting Chief Executive of the Volta River Authority (VRA), has called for enhanced collaboration with Nuclear Power Ghana (NPG) to achieve shared energy security goals.
During a courtesy visit to NPG's headquarters in Accra, Obeng-Kenzo emphasized the importance of deepening ties within the energy sector.
NPG's Executive Director, Dr. Stephen Yamoah, welcomed the partnership, highlighting its potential to support low-carbon energy production for national needs.
Obeng-Kenzo also visited the Bui Power Authority, which hosts NPG at BPA Heights.
Established in 2018 as Ghana's first proposed Nuclear Power Plant operator, NPG is responsible for project development, regulatory compliance, construction, and plant operations.
It originated from staff seconded from VRA, Bui Power Authority, and the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission.
