Afetsi Awoonor takes over as BOST’s new MD

Afetsi Awoonor, a seasoned energy executive with extensive Sub-Saharan trading experience, has been appointed Managing Director of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST).

His tenure began on January 20, 2025, following a formal handover from Dr. Edwin Provencal. Awoonor previously held senior roles at DOC Africa and Convenio Energy and served as BOST’s Manager of Government Relations in 2016-2017.

Awoonor emphasized fostering collaboration, innovation, and growth within BOST, with immediate plans to engage internal stakeholders.

His appointment has received broad support from stakeholders, including the BOST Senior Staff Union, traditional leaders, and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who commended his qualifications and loyalty.

With expertise in oil and gas leadership and trading, Awoonor’s leadership is expected to bolster BOST’s role in Ghana’s energy infrastructure and national development.
