The Ministry of Works and Housing has announced a refund process for deposits made by prospective buyers of affordable housing units stalled since 2008. The initiative aims to address concerns from depositors unable to secure homes in Kpone, Borteyman, and Asokore-Mampong due to project delays.
Affected individuals must visit the Ministry's Accra office with offer letters, payment receipts, and valid IDs, while representatives or next of kin can apply with proper documentation.
Depositors unwilling to purchase units can request refunds at a special desk from November 28 to December 23, 2024. Claims submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
The scheme, launched in 2005, was transferred to SSNIT and TDC for completion after funding issues. Completed units in Borteyman and Asokore-Mampong remain available for interested buyers.
