Afram Plains MP pledges commitment to transform through strategic socio-economic development

Nasira Afrah Gyekye, the MP for Sekyere Afram Plains and the district’s first female representative, has pledged to drive socio-economic growth in the area.

Speaking at the 68th Independence Day celebration, themed "Reflect, Review, and Reset," she acknowledged the district’s challenges, including water scarcity, poor roads, inadequate healthcare, and low educational outcomes, while emphasizing the crucial role of agriculture.

Gyekye stressed the need to adopt modern farming practices, improve market access, and upgrade infrastructure to enhance farmers’ livelihoods. She also committed to collaborating with stakeholders and government agencies to reset priorities toward sustainable growth in agriculture and education.

“True independence for our people means better livelihoods, quality education, and improved infrastructure,” she affirmed, urging residents to unite in building a prosperous future for Sekyere Afram Plains.
