Agongo urges business leaders to mentor 300 youngsters each for Ghana’s future

Successful Ghanaian business leaders should mentor young people, says Seidu Agongo. He proposes that each leader should guide at least 300 youths. This effort could help create a self-reliant and prosperous future for Ghana.

In an interview with Metro TV, Mr. Agongo highlighted the importance of mentorship. He mentioned entrepreneurs like Ibrahim Mahama and Joseph Siaw Agyepong as potential mentors. They can help the next generation avoid costly mistakes.

Mr. Agongo stated, “If I, Ibrahim Mahama, and Zoomlion adopt 300 kids each, we can make a difference.” He believes this approach could transform families and society without relying on foreign aid. “We become better when we depend on ourselves,” he added.

His call comes amid rising youth unemployment in Ghana. There is a pressing need for local mentorship programs to reduce reliance on external support. He urged business leaders and religious figures to invest time in grooming young talent.

“Friends like Ibrahim Mahama and Agyepong should adopt 200 or 300 youths,” he said. Mentoring them can help achieve their goals and build a better future. “The wealth we seek will not go with us into our grave,” he noted.

Mr. Agongo emphasized that well-mentored youths can sustain today’s legacies. Without proper training, inherited wealth may be mismanaged. “If we don’t train our kids right, they might sell it like kelewele,” he warned, referring to popular street food in Ghana.
