The Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) has announced an immediate ban on exporting key grains, including rice, maize, and soybeans, effective November 26, 2024. This decision aims to address domestic supply challenges and ensure food security within Ghana.
In a statement directed to the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), MoFA urged strict enforcement of the ban at all export points and requested that relevant border posts be informed to ensure compliance by exporters.
The Ministry expressed gratitude for the Customs Division's collaboration in safeguarding the nation’s food security. The directive underscores Ghana's commitment to protecting its agricultural resources amid rising concerns over domestic food supply.
