Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has assured Ghanaian students studying abroad of an upcoming increase in their allowances.
Speaking to Ghanaian residents in Benin, he noted that while exact figures are yet to be determined, consultations will be held to enhance stipends and ensure timely disbursements.
Currently, students on a one-year exchange program in Benin receive a monthly CFA 45,000 (GHS 1,147), along with book and medical allowances.
Concerns were raised over the program’s reduction from 12 to six months.
Ablakwa’s visit is part of a broader initiative to engage with Ghanaian communities abroad quarterly.
