Atlantic Lithium is working on the Ewoyaa Lithium Project in Mankessim. This project aims to make Ghana's first lithium-producing mine. As part of its corporate social responsibility, the company donated food and essential items to seven Muslim communities in Mfantseman.
The donations came after the 2025 Eid-ul-Fitr celebration. They provided food and necessities for those who fasted during Ramadan. Items included bags of rice, boxes of spaghetti, cooking oil, soft drinks, mackerel, and canned tomatoes.
The donations were given at various mosques. These included the Mankessim Central Mosque (Orthodox), Mankessim Mosque (Ahmadiyya), Saltpond Central Mosque (Orthodox), and Saltpond Mosque (Ahmadiyya). Other mosques that received donations were Abonko Mosque, Krofu Mosque, and Bafikrom Mosque.
Dr. Millicent Aning-Agyei led this initiative. She is Atlantic Lithium’s Community Relations and Social Performance Manager. Dr. Aning-Agyei emphasized spreading kindness within project communities through Zakat.
She noted that the donations aimed to help less fortunate Muslim residents. The goal was also to strengthen relationships with the local population. Dr. Aning-Agyei encouraged community support for the Ewoyaa Lithium Project.
This project is expected to bring sustainable benefits to local communities in Central Region and Ghana overall. The Atlantic Lithium team received a warm welcome from the Muslim community during their visit.
Imams and Alhajis from all visited mosques expressed gratitude for Atlantic Lithium's efforts. They acknowledged the positive impact made by the company in Mfantseman Municipality over eight years, even before construction began on the Ewoyaa Lithium Project.
