Ato Forson gauges moods of traders, ‘Kayayei’ at Makola market ahead of budget presentation

Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson engaged traders, including ‘kayayei,’ at Makola Market ahead of the 2025 Budget presentation on March 11. Accompanied by Deputy Minister Thomas Nyarko Ampem, he discussed economic challenges such as inflation, taxation, and credit access.

Dr. Forson assured them that their concerns would shape policies in the upcoming budget. The government has approved the 2025 fiscal policy, which includes removing the betting tax and COVID levy.

Minister of Government Communications Felix Kwakye Ofosu affirmed the budget’s focus on economic stabilization and fulfilling the administration’s promises. Additionally, Energy Minister John Jinapor announced plans for a second gas processing plant to address Ghana’s energy challenges.
