Ato Forson to brief Parliament on Statutory Funds June 3

Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson will brief Parliament on June 3, 2025. This information comes from Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga. He announced it while presenting the Business Statement for the week ending June 6.

Dr. Forson's appearance is part of a busy parliamentary schedule. Eleven other ministers will also respond to 72 questions from Members of Parliament. Throughout the week, state ministers may make policy statements as well.

The House expects to receive committee reports and documents for legislative consideration. During discussions, Deputy Minority Whip Mr. Habib Iddrisu and Minority Chief Whip Mr. Frank Annoh-Dompreh sought clarity on the Mid-Year Budget Review date.

Members of the Minority Front Bench questioned why only one day was declared a public holiday for Eid-ul-Adha. They noted President John Dramani Mahama's earlier promise of two days for the festival.

In response, Mr. Ayariga assured Parliament that the Mid-Year Budget presentation would be scheduled soon. He confirmed that Interior Minister Alhaji Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka would address this issue by proposing amendments to the Public Holidays Bill to fulfill the President’s promise to Muslims.
