At a Parliamentary session on March 5, 2025, BoG Governor Dr. Johnson Asiama detailed the financials of the new headquarters.
He noted that as of February 2025, about $230 million had been paid toward its construction, with an outstanding balance of $31.8 million and an additional $48.3 million spent on taxes and levies.
Besides the core building, separate contracts were awarded for ICT systems and network infrastructure at $8.6 million, integrated electronic systems at $15.8 million, and furniture and furnishings at $11.1 million.
Inaugurated on November 20, 2024, by former President Nana Akufo-Addo, the state-of-the-art facility has faced cost-related scrutiny. However, Dr. Asiama defended the investment, citing the structural defects of the previous BoG office as justification for the upgrade.
