President John Mahama has appointed Bernard Ohemeng-Baah, a University of Ghana Business School lecturer and Chartered Insurer with over 20 years of experience, as the Acting Deputy Commissioner of Insurance.
In his role, he will support Acting Commissioner Dr. Abiba Zakariah in overseeing and fostering growth in Ghana’s insurance industry. Mr. Ohemeng-Baah holds an LLM in Insurance Law from Queen Mary University of London, an MSc in Accounting and Finance, and a BBA in Insurance from the University of Ghana.
His extensive industry knowledge, enhanced by exposure to best practices in the UK and US, and his experience in leading multi-country software projects and raising venture capital, position him well to leverage emerging trends including the transformative potential of artificial intelligence in insurance regulation.
