During the Dean's Award, Prof Gatsi addressed students and lecturers. He mentioned he returned to the Bank of Ghana in early May 2025. However, he will return on May 29, 2025, to say goodbye. This ensures a smooth transition for staff and students.
Prof Gatsi expressed gratitude to university management and staff. He thanked the School of Business management, lecturers, administrators, and students. Their support over six years led to increased visibility and growth for the School.
He acknowledged staff efforts in developing postgraduate programs. These programs align with national human resource development goals. They include specialized programs for the military and customs division of the Ghana Revenue Authority.
The School expects a certificate of accreditation from GTEC soon. This will help launch the Bachelor of Commerce in Financial Engineering program. The Master of Philosophy and Master of Science in Health Services Administration programs have also been advertised.
Prof Gatsi reported that GTEC notified them about an accreditation panel. This panel will assess the Doctor of Business Administration program in June 2025. The program may start before the end of this year.
He announced two new bachelor's degree programs: entrepreneurship with international business and entrepreneurship with graphic design. The School is working with the School of Economics on a new postgraduate program as well.
Additionally, they are collaborating with the Institute for Oil and Gas Studies. Together, they will offer a Bachelor of Science in Energy Studies and Management.
Prof Gatsi highlighted significant growth at the School since 2019. They went from having no professors to nine professors now. There are also ten associate professors and twenty-four senior lecturers.
He recognized assistant lecturers' hard work despite their numbers decreasing from fifteen to four since 2019. Prof Samuel Kwaku Agyei will become Dean on August 1, 2025.
Currently, he is acting Dean until July 31, 2025, completing Prof Gatsi's tenure. Prof Gatsi encouraged alumni to join the launch of their 50th Anniversary on June 19.
He urged them to donate for infrastructure needs like a bus or repairs to an old building suffering structural issues. A summer hut complex project could attract alumni attention as well.
He encouraged student associations to maintain strong leadership roles supporting school management. Prof Gatsi has returned to Accra after his address.
For four years, they have been members of AACSB, an international accrediting body for business schools. He urged new administration members to pursue full accreditation for significant benefits.
Lastly, he called on professional bodies and businesses to partner closely with the School for mutual benefits.
