Trade activities in the secondary bond market increased by 57.22%, reaching GH¢634 million last week, up from GH¢403 million the previous week.
The majority of trades focused on the shorter end of the yield curve, with maturities from 2027 to 2030 accounting for 84% of the total trades at an average yield to maturity (YTM) of 26%. Maturities from 2031 to 2038 made up 16% of the trades, with a higher average YTM of 28%.
Analysts expect continued dominance of shorter-term trades as investors pursue higher yields while maintaining a cautious stance.
