President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Brigadier General Glover Annan Ashong as the new Commissioner of the Ghana Customs Service.
This appointment was announced during a ceremony at the Customs Service headquarters in Accra.
In his acceptance speech, Brig. Gen. Ashong thanked the President for this significant responsibility. He recognized the importance of his role and promised to work hard with the staff.
“This appointment is an opportunity and a duty,” he said. He aims to support the Commissioner-General in mobilizing revenue for national development.
Brig. Gen. Ashong assured the President, Finance Minister, and all Ghanaians of his commitment to build on past achievements. He wants to elevate the Customs Division and contribute to economic growth.
The ceremony had many high-ranking officials from the Customs Division present. They welcomed Brig. Gen. Ashong enthusiastically and pledged their support for his vision.
