Cashew traders cry foul over “foreigners” undermining the market

Cashew Cashew

The Cashew Traders and Exporters Association of Ghana has raised concerns about unauthorized market activities by some foreigners, who are inflating cashew prices (GHC 20–25 versus the official GHC 15) and purchasing unripe crops.

This practice violates trade regulations, threatens the stability of the local cashew market, and could harm farmers and traders in the long term.

The Association is appealing to the government to intervene by halting these activities, enforcing pricing rules, and ensuring sustainable trade practices to safeguard the industry’s future.
