Chowdeck eyes smarter delivery services

Chowdeck is launching a referral scheme for new customers. New users receive 10 cedis on their first order. They also get another 10 cedis on their second order when they invite friends.

Customers can unlock their Chowscore after their first order each month. This loyalty program offers rewards like free delivery and exclusive discounts based on tiers. Additionally, customers enjoy a 30 percent discount and free deliveries on orders.

Chowdeck has entered the Ghanaian market, operating in several areas of Accra. These include Osu, Cantonments, Labone, Airport, Dzorwulu, East Legon, Madina, Adenta, Oyarifa, and Abokobi. Customers can order hot meals and groceries with an average delivery time of 30 minutes.

The company uses advanced technology to streamline logistics operations. This allows businesses to deliver items efficiently while providing consumers with an easy ordering platform. Since its launch in Nigeria in October 2021, Chowdeck has gained 1.5 million users and over 20,000 riders across 11 cities.

Expanding into Ghana is a significant milestone for Chowdeck's growth strategy in Africa. Rapid urbanization and changing consumer behavior present opportunities in key cities. Recent data shows that 87 percent of Ghanaians use mobile phones for food delivery services.

Femi Aluko, CEO of Chowdeck, stated that Ghana marks the start of their pan-African growth strategy. He emphasized the importance of building infrastructure for commerce across the continent. The goal is to provide value to businesses and customers while creating jobs for riders.

Henry Whyte will lead operations in Ghana as Country Lead at Chowdeck. He previously worked as Senior Operations Manager at Bolt Ghana. His experience will help enhance Chowdeck’s delivery network and customer service.

Henry Whyte said they aim to improve on-demand delivery in Ghana using technology and local talent. Their focus is on helping merchants grow while providing convenience to consumers and fair pay for riders.

The Chowdeck app is now available for download on Google Play Store and Apple App Store in Ghana.
