Kojo Boso, a concerned Ghanaian citizen, has requested financial records from the Energy Commission to promote transparency and accountability.
In a letter to Executive Secretary Oscar Amonoo-Neizer, Boso seeks details of fuel allowances paid to Amonoo-Neizer via payslips from October 2019 to March 2023, as well as a schedule of payments made using fuel cards for two official vehicles.
He also requests authorization letters for Board Research and Transport Allowances, and Committee Sitting Allowances since 2021.
Boso’s request, made under the Right to Information Act, 2019 (Act 989) and the 1992 Constitution, aims to ensure proper use of public funds.
He has also highlighted claims of $100,000 per diem for COP29 attendees, including Amonoo-Neizer and other staff.
Copies of the letter were sent to CHRAJ, the Ministers of Energy and Finance, and the Auditor-General.
