Clean Jobs Resources Limited has denied allegations from the Western North Regional Minister. The Minister accused the company of illegal mining in the Tano Anwia Forest Reserve.
In a statement, Clean Jobs Resources Limited firmly rejected these claims. The company is committed to environmental protection and legal compliance. It operates within Ghana’s minerals and mining regulations, specifically Act 703.
The company stated that its engineers are setting up infrastructure outside the forest reserve. They are following regulations from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Forestry Commission. Management noted that mining operations have not yet started in the forest reserve.
Clean Jobs Resources Limited is working with the Forestry Commission's Rapid Response Team and the Military. They aim to combat illegal mining in their concession area. However, they expressed frustration over attacks on their staff by illegal miners.
Despite reporting these issues to the Enchi police, they received no help. The company then contacted the National Security Council for assistance against illegal mining activities.
The company was disappointed by the Regional Minister's comments. They found it surprising that he attributed environmental destruction to them while ignoring real culprits. Clean Jobs Resources Limited is asking the Minister to retract what they call defamatory statements.
The statement also mentioned proactive legal measures taken by the company. These include seeking court injunctions on disputed property and working with security agencies to apprehend illegal miners. They informed the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources about these actions as well.
“It is illogical for us to be involved in illegal mining while seeking help,” said Clean Jobs Resources Limited in their statement.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to thorough environmental and legal assessments before starting operations. They urged stakeholders to engage in constructive dialogue and asked the public to disregard false accusations, emphasizing their dedication to benefiting local communities.
