DVLA warns public against licensing by private garages

Mr. Jerry Edem Aflabo is the new Ashanti Regional Manager of the DVLA. He has issued a warning to the public. People should not use private garages for licensing services.

On his first day in office, Mr. Aflabo spoke to the media. He stressed that only the DVLA can issue or renew driver’s licenses. Reports about private garages offering these services are false and misleading.

“These private garages have no authority for licensing functions,” he said. Their role is limited to vehicle inspections for new registrations. They prepare reports for roadworthiness certification.

Mr. Aflabo warned that the DVLA will take action against unauthorized facilities. This could include closing them down and legal action against operators.

He reassured the public about the DVLA’s commitment to efficient services. His leadership will focus on improving service delivery and client satisfaction.
