Deloitte has praised the tax reforms in Ghana’s 2025 Budget, calling them business-friendly and a step toward economic transformation.
Speaking at the Deloitte Economic Dialogue, Country Managing Partner Daniel Kwadwo Owusu noted that the budget responds to business concerns and supports growth. He acknowledged Ghana’s economic challenges, including high inflation, but commended recent government efforts to rationalize spending.
Economic Advisor to the President, Seth Terkper, hinted at reforms in the tax refund system to broaden the tax base.
Meanwhile, Association of Ghana Industries CEO, Seth Twum Akwaboah, urged the government to reassess the extension of sunset clauses on taxes, arguing that businesses continue to pay indefinitely. The dialogue, themed “Ghana’s Economic Transformation Agenda,” explored key budget policies and stakeholder input.
