Dumsor: Be patient, we’re resolving power supply challenges – Jinapor

The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, urged Ghanaians to be patient amid potential power disruptions as the government works to settle a $75 million debt to N-Gas Limited.

During a visit to the West African Gas Pipeline Company Station in Tema on February 21, Jinapor explained that any supply interruptions are due to limited spare capacity and short notice in procuring fuel, not deliberate actions.

He commended GRIDCo and power producers, urging the Electricity Company of Ghana to keep staff on standby. With N-Gas having notified the Volta River Authority of suspending gas supply over arrears, the government is negotiating payment terms and seeking help from Nigerian counterparts.

This collaborative approach aims to restore a stable gas supply and minimize disruptions.
