The Electronic Money Issuers (EMIs) Chamber of Ghana has announced that all E-Levy charges on mobile money and electronic transfers will be refunded for transactions made from April 2, 2025.
The refunds, following a directive from the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), will be completed by April 7, 2025. The decision aligns with the government’s move to abolish the levy under the Electronic Transfer Levy (Repeal) Act, 2025.
Member institutions, including AT Money, G-Money, and others, are processing refunds and have implemented safeguards to prevent further unintended charges.
The EMIs Chamber emphasizes its commitment to transparency, customer trust, and supporting Ghana’s growing digital financial ecosystem.
