ECG vendors reaffirm commitment to digital transformation at community forum

The Unified Vending platform was developed with GCB Bank. It offers a secure system for prepaid electricity purchases and bill payments nationwide.

Jeremiah Brown-Coleman is the Managing Director of TextGenesys Ltd (TGL Systems). He emphasized that this platform empowers private electricity vendors of ECG. It provides unified, secure, and convenient services to millions of customers.

“This digital solution simplifies revenue collection,” he stated. It ensures real-time reconciliation and strengthens ECG’s revenue collection mechanisms.

Ing. Julius Kwame Kpekpena is the Managing Director of ECG. He spoke on his behalf at a recent forum. This event celebrated digital transformation in revenue mobilization and customer experience in Ghana's power sector.

He noted that the forum marks a new chapter for inclusivity and professionalism within ECG's revenue collection ecosystem. The partnership with TGL Systems shows ECG’s commitment to technology and private-sector collaboration.

Deputy Minister of Energy, Richard Gyan-Mensah, highlighted the government's dedication to solving challenges in the power sector. He assured stakeholders that private sector participation (PSP) will enhance ECG’s operations while protecting public interest.

To ensure a smooth transition, the ministry has formed a technical committee to evaluate potential private partners. “While PSP is not a cure-all, collaboration remains essential,” Mr. Gyan-Mensah emphasized.
