The Electronic Money Issuers (EMIs) Chamber of Ghana has strongly condemned the recent violent attacks on mobile money agents nationwide.
In a press release, the Chamber expressed condolences to affected families and urged authorities to take urgent action to protect these essential workers.
Mobile money agents play a vital role in providing secure and accessible financial services to millions of Ghanaians. However, the increasing attacks threaten both their safety and the stability of the financial sector.
With three agents killed in a month, the Chamber called the situation unacceptable and urged the government, security agencies, and the Bank of Ghana to collaborate on enhanced security measures to protect agents.
