Eastern Regional Minister Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey has urged Engineer Emmanuel Antwi Addo and ECG management to rebuild public trust.
She made this request during her visit to the ECG Customer Service Office in Koforidua. She also visited the Akyem Tafo and Somanya district offices.
Miss Adjei Awatey expressed concern about rising customer complaints. She urged ECG officials to resolve issues within hours, not days. She promised her support and that of the government to help achieve this goal.
In another matter, Ing. Tetteh Apan, the Somanya District Manager of ECG, addressed concerns about smart meters. He dismissed claims that these meters exploit customers. Complaints arose after the rollout of smart meters under the Loss Reduction Programme (LRP).
Ing. Apan explained that smart meters aim to improve accuracy and efficiency, not overcharge consumers.
Engineer Emmanuel Antwi Addo from the Tafo Branch acknowledged ongoing energy challenges in the region. He mentioned that ECG is working with key stakeholders for a sustainable solution.
He asked residents in Eastern Region to be patient as they work on restoring stable power supply. He assured customers that ECG understands their difficulties and shares their concerns.
