**Haruna Iddrisu – Minister of Education**

Mr. Haruna Iddrisu, the Minister of Education, has made an important call. He urged school management to let students practice their religion freely.

He stated that every Ghanaian child has rights guaranteed by the constitution. This includes both the child and the school.

The Minister spoke during Eid Ul-Fitr prayers in Tamale. He joined a congregation of the Ahmadiyya Muslim sect for this occasion.

On March 29, 2025, the Ghana Muslim Students Association expressed disappointment. They criticized Saint Roses Senior High in Akwatia for denying Muslim students Eid-Ul-Fitr observance.

Earlier, on March 4, 2025, Mr. Iddrisu warned schools against religious restrictions. He emphasized Ghana’s secular status and stressed that no student should face such barriers.

He called for strict adherence to constitutional provisions on religious freedom. Mr. Iddrisu urged educational institutions to allow free practice of religion as allowed by law.
