Dr. Josephine Darko, Deputy Head of Communication at the Mental Health Authority, has urged employers to prioritize mental health support for workers.

Speaking at a media workshop by Empowering Better Life Foundation (EBLF) in Accra, she recommended employee assistance programs, including therapy leave and medical coverage.

Dr. Darko emphasized that mental health, like physical health, requires attention, and discrimination against employees with mental illnesses is illegal.

She called for an end to stigma, stressing the role of workplace support.

EBLF CEO Alma Adade-Prempeh and journalist Hannah Awadzi also advocated for responsible mental health reporting to foster societal inclusion.
