The school has struggled with access to clean water for years. Students often search local communities for water to bathe and wash.
**Handing Over the Project**
Abdel Razak Yakubu, Executive Secretary of Gold Fields Ghana Foundation, spoke at the event. He mentioned that the headmaster approached them for help a few years ago. At that time, their support was limited to host communities. However, due to the urgent need, they decided to assist FIASEC.
This project aims to provide more accessible water for students. It will improve their comfort on campus. The event coincided with World Water Day, which focuses on glacier preservation and sustainable water management.
Mr. Yakubu emphasized that water is a valuable resource. He urged FIASEC management to form a committee for fundraising efforts. This will help manage the new facility effectively.
He also discussed working with ECG on changing the metering system from prepaid to postpaid. This change would ease financial burdens on the school. They plan to ensure three months' supply of units is available initially.
Mr. Yakubu called on local companies to support development at the school.
**Headmaster of FIASEC**
John Kofi Sagoe, Headmaster of FIASEC, highlighted the importance of clean water. He stated it is a fundamental human right essential for hygiene and health.
FIASEC has faced challenges in securing reliable water supplies as student numbers grow. He expressed gratitude towards Gold Fields Ghana Foundation for their support. The new facility will ensure consistent water supply for sanitation and cooking needs.
The Headmaster assured that they would maintain the facility properly. He encouraged students and staff to use it responsibly.
He also mentioned other challenges facing the school, such as inadequate facilities and staff accommodation. As they prepare for their 70th anniversary in October, he looks forward to further collaboration in education and community development.

She emphasized that safe water improves student attendance and learning outcomes significantly. Madam Mensah reminded everyone not to waste water and advised using buckets wisely when fetching it.
She pledged GES's support in maintaining the project’s longevity.
